Highland Magic

I am just back from one of the most peaceful, yet hectic and fun, weekends I have had in a long time, and I firmly believe that it is down to the great friends that were there!

It started off with a trip up to Inveraray to spend a night with my mum at garronbridge. Fes and I charged through the wind and rain, up the side of Loch Lomond and over the Rest and Be Thankful to have a good evening with mum. We sat up til about 2am have a few drinks and a good long chat.

To get to the highland croft that we were staying at for the weekend I decided to take to scenic route, from Inverary up to almost Oban, over the Connel Bridge and up to Fort William, then over the A86 to Newtonmore and then the Bridge of Brown road to Tomintoul.

I know I have said it before, but what a beautiful country Scotland is! I have a special advantage that I have family and friends spread over the length of the country; from just a few miles north of the border; to Glasgow; to Argyll and the Isles; and my friend Rob’s croft near Tomintoul. To see Scotland change as you travel that distance, from the often neglected lowlands to the highly lauded highland, she is beautiful in every way.

Anyway, back to the weekend. It was going to be a squeeze, with 9 of us in the croft for most of the weekend (it has two bedrooms, a livingroom and a kitchen) but it was the blend of people that just made it work.
